PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely judge the generation of a trouble that voltage is not a plied to counter electrodes and the like to discriminate the abnormal generation of a trouble in construction machinery and to make it possible to easily discriminate the lighting part when a display screen of a liquid crystal display device is lit by a backlight. SOLUTION: If voltage is not applied between the counter electrodes 11a and 11b and between 11a and 11d corresponding to display subjects 30 and 30', respectively, the light transmitted through the display subjects 30 and 30' is transmitted through liquid crystals 11c and 11e and the display subjects 30 and 30' are displayed on display positions 13a and 13b of the display screen 13. If voltage is applied, the light transmitted through the display subjects 30 and 30' is shielded by the liquid crystals 11c and 11e and the display subjects 30 and 30' are non-displayed on the display positions 13a and 13b of the display screen 13. The backlights 20 and 20' are lit when the display subjects 30 and 30' are displayed on the display positions 13a and 13b and are turned off when the display subjects 30 and 30' are non-displayed on the display positions 13a and 13b.
