PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonizing furnace harmless to environment and scarcely generating noise and malodor. SOLUTION: This carbonizing furnace is equipped with a potential transformer 2 having a primary coil 21 connected to an electric source 23 and a secondary coil 22 having winding number smaller than that of the primary coil 21, hollow tubes 3a to 3d having electroconductivity and connected to the secondary coil 22 of the transformer 2, a charging part 4 for charging waste into the hollow tube 3a, a screw conveyer 6 and a motor for transferring the waste charged into the hollow tubes 3a to 3d in the hollow tubes and a discharge part 5 for discharging the waste transferred thereby.
