PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution type fuel injection pump 1 having high reliability by preventing the wear of first bearings 16 and 17 due to the lack of lubrication by reducing a fuel arrival delay time to the first bearings 16 and 17 during cranking at the startup of an engine. SOLUTION: The delivery port 4a of a feed pump 4 is communicated with a second space part 24 by forming a second passage 22, and a control valve 20 for switching over from the communication of the second passage to the shutting-off thereof and vice versa is formed in the intermediate part of the second passage 22. Thereby, since a lubricant can be fed to the first bearings 16 and 17 through the second passage immediately after the start of the cranking, the wear of the first bearings 16 and 17 can be prevented, and the sealing performance of an oil seal 18 can stably be kept by shutting off the second passage 22 by the control valve 20 after the startup to restrain the fuel pressure in a first space part 23 from exceeding a predetermined pressure, so that the distribution type fuel injection pump 1 having high reliability can be provided.
