PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine stopping time control device to prevent the exhaust gas from counterflowing to the suction line when the engine is stopped by closing at least either of the suction valve and exhaust valve and thereby enhance the starting characteristics of the engine. SOLUTION: A control means to make rotational control of a cam shaft is installed in such an arrangement that at least either of a suction cam and exhaust cam is stopped in a position where at least either of the suction valve and exhaust valve is put in the closed condition when the engine is stopped.
