PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the quantity of lubricating oil collected in a receiver. SOLUTION: The receiver 8 is provided in an outdoor unit of an air conditioner for storing a liquid refrigerant temporarily and it has a vessel main body 45, an inlet pipe 46 and an outlet pipe 47. The vessel main body 45 is long laterally in a state of being installed in the outdoor unit 1. The inlet pipe 46 and the outlet pipe 47 are disposed at one end side in the lateral direction of the vessel main body 45 and the liquid refrigerant goes in and out therethrough. The vessel main body 45 is installed aslant in the outdoor unit 1 so that the side where the inlet pipe 46 and the outlet pipe 47 are disposed is positioned lower than the opposite side.
