PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome difficulty with the prior art air cleaning apparatus dis posed in the ceiling 3 like a heat exchange ventilating apparatus connected with a duct where it takes a labor to take down from the ceiling. SOLUTION: The present air conditioning apparatus 1 includes a casing 10 disposed in the ceiling 3 and a decorative panel 11 connected with a lower surface 32 of the casing through a ceiling opening 6. The casing 10 and a duct joint 12 mounted on a side surface plate 20 of the casing 10 and connected with a duct 2 are disposed in a contour 7 of the ceiling opening 6. The casing 10 can be lowered without widening the ceiling opening 6, and its labor can be reduced. The duct 2 and the duct joint 12 can be separated with ease from the inside of the room 4 through a gap 8 in the ceiling opening 6. It is possible to separate a side surface plate 21 on which a duct joint 12 is mounted and a main structure section 30 other than the side surface plate 21, and to separate a side surface plate 20 and the duct joint 12.
