SEPARATION METHOD OF HEMICELLULOSE FROM PLANT

PURPOSE: A method for separating dietary fiber hemicellulose from a plant is provided, to obtain the hemicellulose in the semi-aqueous state by controlling the length and size by adjusting the pH and the titration velocity. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of removing starch from the leaf or trunk of a plant or wood, finely cutting it, and treating it with acetone to remove chlorophyll; removing sugar, fat and sugar alcohol from the treated one by the alcohol extraction and the centrifugation; treating it with 1N or less alkali and 1N and less HCl to remove the remaining impurities; and repeating the processes of treating it with alkali and neutralizing it to control pH, to separate semi-aqueous hemicellulose. Preferably the alcohol is ethanol and the alkali treatment is carried out by using NaOH.
