PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specified arrangement structure in which the color of displayed information or the background color where the information is displayed can be reversed from other colors. SOLUTION: A second active liquid crystal display device (24) is disposed in the front of a first display device (22), and the second active liquid crystal display device includes, from the observer's side, a front polarizer (11) having selectivity for a first color [V], liquid crystal display cell (26) which can be turned on/off, intermediate polarizer (13) having selectivity for a second color [R], optical liquid crystal valve (28) which can be turned on/off, and back polarizer (15). When the first display device (22) has a dark background, the back polarizer is reflective. When the first display device (22) has a bright background, the back polarizer is absorptive. Two switching states are selected by a controlling unit (23) to reverse the color of the displayed information or the background color. |
