WHEEL DISCRIMINATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel discrimination device capable of reducing cost and easily assembling in the production line of an automobile. SOLUTION: This wheel discrimination device is equipped with a sensor 1 for measuring the thickness of a wheel W; an imaging part 2 for measuring the outer diameter of the wheel W and imaging the side surface of the wheel W; and a data processing part 3 for discriminating the kind of the wheel W based on data sent from the sensor 1 and the imaging part 2. The discrimination of the kind of the wheel W in the data processing part 3 is conducted after the number of the image data used in the discrimination of the kind of wheel W is narrowed on the basis of the thickness of the wheel W obtained with the sensor 1, by comparing image information 5 on the shape of the side surface of the wheel W obtained in the imaging part 2 with the image data 4 whose number is narrowed.
