PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure micro amounts of distortion such as the weight and strength of an object, the inclination of a floor surface, the amount of a crack width, etc., by measuring the micro amount of extension and contraction of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical fiber is directly placed between a fulcrum and a point of application. By measuring the amount of extension of the optical fiber associated with the movement of the point of application by an optical displacement sensor, it is possible to measure especially infinitesimal displacement. By this, when measuring not only displacement but also the weight of an object, changes in water levels, the inclination of a measuring surface, changes in the width of a crack, etc., as displacements, it is possible to simplify measuring work, to reduce cost, and to improve accuracy in measurement substantially.
