PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a masking tape capable of efficiently carrying out a coating step and remarkably reducing repairing operation of a boundary part between a coated surface and an uncoated surface. SOLUTION: This masking tape is characterized as having a lamination constitution comprising a first adhesive tape 1 having an adhesive layer 18 releasably applicable to the ground surface 4 of a structure 3 on the undersurface side and a second adhesive tape 2 having an adhesive layer 21 releasably bonded to the top surface 19 of the first adhesive tape 1 on the undersurface side and forming the second adhesive tape 2 into a greater width than the tape width of the first adhesive tape 1 with a uniform gap G over the full length in the longitudinal direction of the tape 1.
