METHOD FOR THERMALLY DECOMPOSING CHLORINE-CONTAINING PLASTIC WASTE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for thermally decomposing chlorine-containing plastic waste materials, capable of obtaining a thermally decomposed residue having a low chlorine content and capable of being suitably used e.g. as a blast furnace reducing agent and a cement raw material by separating and removing chlorine from the chlorine-containing plastic waste materials by a thermal decomposition in a high chlorine removal rate. SOLUTION: This method for thermally decomposing the chlorine-containing plastic waste materials is provided by mixing the chlorine-containing plastic waste materials with a converting material in a state that at least the chlorine- containing plastics in the chlorine-containing plastics waste materials are heated and softened, and heating the obtained softened mixture for thermally decomposing at least the chlorine-containing plastics in the chlorine-containing plastic waste materials to obtain the thermally decomposed residue having a low chlorine content and so as to get a high chlorine removal rate.
