PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can put the arrangement area of a thermal protection in a paper passing area without fail when a series of printing operations is completed. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a transfer part which transfers a toner image to a recording material, and a fixing device including a heating body which heats the recording material so as to fix the transferred toner image to the recording material and an overheating preventing element for the heating body, and equipped with a recording material sensor such as a recording material presence/absence sensor or a recording material passage sensor in the conveyance path of the recording material. Part or the whole of the overheating preventing element is positioned in an area sandwiched between two planes among planes which pass through the recording material sensor and are parallel to the conveyance direction orthogonal to the conveyance surface of the recording material. |
