PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a single light source bulb to selectively irradiate in different two directions and to dispense with a switch knob. SOLUTION: This room lamp 1 for a vehicle is provided with a lamp body 2, a lens 29 covering over the front face of the lamp body 2, the light source bulb 5 disposed in a space partitioned by the lamp body and the lens, and switch means 16a, 16b, 20a, 20b, 28a, and 28b. The lens is rotationally supported to the lamp body with an adjacency to the light source bulb set to the center of the rotational movement. This room lamp 1 for the vehicle is so constituted that, when the front face of the lens is approximately in parallel to the opening face of the lamp body, the switch means are opened, and when the end of the lens is pushed in inward the lamp body, the lens is rotationally moved and the switch means are closed to light the light source bulb and the main irradiation direction by the light source bulb is changed in the direction faced to the lens.
