PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of adequately executing the supplying of plural kinds of printing papers by a simple operation by using a single paper supply mechanism. SOLUTION: A paper kind in a paper kind setting command obtained by a CPU 2 by analyzing print data transmitted together with the paper kind setting command set by a host computer 3 is stored in a paper kind information storing section 17. The paper supply mechanism 5 is controlled in accordance with a paper supply mechanism control parameter fetched from a paper supply mechanism control parameter storing section 12 based on the paper kind data.
