PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of unevenness of a belt edge on printing by correcting a belt edge position detected by a CCD sensor. SOLUTION: This edge detecting and correcting device for the photoreceptor belt has CCD sensors 1 arranged nearby laser units 4 of respective colors and also has light sources 2 for the CCD sensors installed on the opposite sides across the photoreceptor belt 3 to detect the belt edge position of the photoreceptor belt 3 nearby the respective color lasers.
