PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a turning device to accurately move printing paper and belts in their target positions. SOLUTION: This turning device 1 for a thin planar material 2, especially the print paper for a printing machine, has the two belts 7, 8 each disposed through two turn guide rollers 3, 4 or 5, 6 with the belts turning-crossed between the turn guide rollers 3, 4, 5, 6. At least three guide rollers 11, 12, 13 are allowed to alternately abut on support belt sections 7', 8' of the belts 7, 8 behind a turning cross area 10 in a view from a carrying direction 9, and at least one of the guide rollers 11, 12, 13 has a retention collar 14 at least on one side.
