PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens storing container which causes no mar on a lens surface when a carrier tape is wound aroung a lens. SOLUTION: The lens storing container restrains a lens 1 from moving in the direction of its optical axis with the aid of a cover tape 21. A protrusion 31, which abuts against a carrier tap 11 wound around the inside of the lens 1 or the cover tape 21, is formed on the carrier tape 11 so that a gap can be defined between at least a portion of the cover tape 21, which is opposed to the other lens face 7 of the lens 1 stored in a lens storing part 13, and the carrier tape 11 wound around the outside of the lens 1 when the carrier tape 11 on which the cover tape 21 is stuck is wound around the lens 1.
