PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device capable of reducing parts exclusive for a shift lock mechanism. SOLUTION: A shift lock member B locks a shift stopper 7 when a brake is not operated, and unlocks the shift stopper 7 when the brake is operated. The radius from the center of the relative turn of a detent part 32 to the shift stopper 7 to an engagement part of the corresponding detent part 32 in a P range is set to be the dimension different from the radius from the center of the turn to the engagement part of the corresponding detent part 32 in other ranges. The shift lock member B is movable to the locking position only in a condition in which the shift stopper 7 is engaged with the detent part 32 in the P range. The movement of the shift lock member B to the locking position in other ranges is prevented by the shift stopper 7.
