摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment which can measure wavelength dispersion even if the wavelength of a variable wavelength light source is equal to the reference wavelength of a fixed wavelength light source. SOLUTION: Variable wavelength light from a variable wavelength light source 12 is subjected to intensity modulation at a frequency (f) by a first optical modulator 15a and transmitted from one end 30a to the other end 30b of an optical fiber 30. Fixed wavelength light from a fixed wavelength light source 14 is subjected to intensity modulation at a frequency, (f) by a second optical modulator 15b, and transmitted from the other end 30b to one end 30a of the optical fiber 30. The variable wavelength light and the fixed wavelength light transmitted the optical fiber 30 can thereby be taken out through a second directional coupler 28 and a first directional coupler 26 while being separated regardless of the wavelength thereof. Consequently, the phase can be compared and the wavelength dispersion can be measured even if the wavelength of the variable wavelength light source is equal to the reference wavelength of the fixed wavelength light source.
