PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain new star polymer having a function of incorporating useful organic compounds such as agrochemicals, medicines, perfumes and curing agents for resin and of releasing them under certain conditions. SOLUTION: This star polymer is represented by formula (I) [wherein X is a direct bond, a 1-3C alkylene, or the like; R1 to R8 may be the same or different and are each H, a halogeno, a 1-6C alkyl, a 1-6C alkoxy, a 1-6C alkoxycarbonyl, nitro, amino, carboxyl, or the like; and R9 to R12 are each a linear or branched poly(2-4C)alkylene glycol having a molecular weight of 500 to 100,000 (of which the terminal hydroxyl group not bonded to a benzene ring is substituted by a 1-6C haloalkyl group, a 1-6C alkyl group, or an optionally substituted phenyl group)].
