PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable ink jet recording head having stable discharge characteristics and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This ink jet recording head includes a nozzle part having ink discharge openings for discharging ink and ink channels communicating with the ink discharge openings, a recording element substrate having elements for generating an energy used for discharging the ink and, a wiring board connected electrically to the recording element substrate. The ink jet recording head is provided with spacers in the vicinity of electrodes connected electrically to the wiring board. The spacer is formed of the same material as that of the nozzle part and is made lower than a height of a face of the nozzle part where the ink discharge openings are formed. The manufacturing method for the recording head includes steps of applying a photosensitive coating resin layer two or more times thereby forming a plurality of the photosensitive coating resin layers, exposing to light the layers after applying a middle layer and after applying a final layer, and forming the spacers of an arbitrary height.
