The use of extract(s) (A) of Sophora japonica plants is claimed in (or for the preparation of) a composition for promoting desquamation of the skin, stimulating epidermal renewal and/or combating intrinsic and/or extrinsic cutaneous aging. Independent claims are included for: (1) (A)-containing compositions for use as above; and (2) a non-therapeutic treatment process having the above effects, involving application of an (A)-containing composition to the skin.
