The invention aims to improve the supply of travel information available to a traveler. To this end it provides for at least one travel attendant (23) which functions as a man-machine interface and/or controls a man-machine interface, one or more travel assistants (22) which cooperate with the travel attendant (23), and at least one unit (24, 25) which offers information and to which the travel assistant(s) (22) are permanently or temporarily connected via the travel attendant (23). Cooperation is carried out via a flexible interface method which comprises at least the components service provider, service user and look-up service, and carries out at least one of the steps: discovery, display, consultation, service invocation and possibly hire. The link between the travel assistant(s) and the travel attendant as well as between the travel assistant(s) and/or the service provider(s) used by same is effected via one or more machine-machine interfaces. The processing capacity and/or memory contents and/or processing process can be dynamically distributed, in terms of both time and space, over one or more travel attendants and one or more travel assistants.
