PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven excellent in practicality. SOLUTION: In order to enable every user to prepare a variety of dishes by automatic heat cooking, dish information CI on a plurality of kinds of dishes is registered as standards in a masked ROM 11A or the like of the microwave oven 1. Considering that the dishes to be prepared by heat cooking by each user are limited actually to several of the registered ones, however, only the names HN of the standard ones of favorite dishes in the masked ROM 11A are selectively registered beforehand in a nonvolatile memory 11B. On the occasion of heat-cooking of the favorite dishes, it is needed only to read the name HN of the standard dish of a desired dish from the nonvolatile memory 11B, not from the masked ROM 11A, to make it displayed on an LCD panel 13 and to execute an operation of instruction to start a heating operation from an input part 15.
