PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device functioning even to a small earthquake, easy in maintenance and superior in reliability. SOLUTION: This base isolation device comprises a frame 1 for placing a base isolation object, ball isolators 3 arranged between at least three places of this frame 1 and a base part of a structure and a viscous damper 4 arranged between the frame 1 and the base part 2, and the ball isolators 3 have balls 5 rotatably arranged on the under surface side of the frame and mortar-like plates 6 arranged in the base part and rolling the balls 5, and the viscous damper 4 is characterized by having a vessel 9 installed in the base part and storing a viscous body 10 inside and a resistance member 8 having a lower end part soaked in the viscous body 10 in the vessel 9 by being suspended from the frame.
