PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To study a method for using a yeast widely useful for human beauty and health, having a higher additional value while directing attention to a metabolic ability of yeast and a component contained in its microbial cell. SOLUTION: The hydrogen peroxide eliminant, the antiinflammatory agent and the cosmetic composition are characterized by comprising a yeast extract having >=0.0001 wt.% calculated as solid content of glutathione content by culturing a yeast of the genus Saccharomyces. Consequently, the hydrogen peroxide eliminant and the antiinflammatory agent have excellent in hydrogen peroxide eliminating action and anti-inflammatory action and have extremely improved utility and usability as a cosmetic use. The cosmetic composition formulated with the hydrogen peroxide eliminant and the antiinflammatory agent can ameliorate chapped skin/dry skin and provide the skin with gloss and firmness and can be expected to prevent aging phenomena caused by active oxygen. |
