PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient cooling capacity while maintaining an air conditioner in a compact and simple configuration, in the air conditioner effecting a supercritical pressure cycle. SOLUTION: A refrigerant circuit (20) is constituted by sequentially connecting a compressor (21), a first heat exchanger (22), an expansion valve (23) and a second heat exchanger (24). The refrigerant circuit (20) is filled with CO2 (carbon dioxide) as a refrigerant. Water is sprayed against the first air of the first heat exchanger (22) by a water sprinkler (41). The sprayed water is vaporized by absorbing heat from the first air. By this constitution, latent heat of evaporation of water is used for cooling the refrigerant in the first heat exchanger (22).
