PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for efficiently introducing hydrogen into the carbon-to-carbon double bonds of a chloroprene polymer. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for hydrogenating a chloroprene polymer comprising introducing hydrogen into the carbon-to-carbon double bonds of the chloroprene polymer in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and an oxygenous compound.
