PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a longer time in order to calculate the registration control value. SOLUTION: As for the registration control method and device, the device is provided with a detecting means for detecting the entrance of a printing substrate 2 into a printing machine 1, and a digital calculating means for calculating the start of forming color separation images 3, 3', 3" and 3''' in order to register and position the color separation image printing 4, 4', 4" and 4''' on the printing substrate 2, the printing substrate 2 is detected before the printing substrate enters the printing machine 1, and after detecting the printing substrate, the relative positions of the color separation images 3, 3', 3" and 3''' are calculated, and when the substrate enters the printing machine 1, the front edge 5 of the printing substrate 2 is accurately detected, and also, the printing substrate is regarded as a base for defining the previously calculated start of forming the color separation images with reference to the relative positions. |
