PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously remove fine particles in exhaust gas through oxidation on a particulate filter. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas circulating pipe 65 is disposed within a muffler body 50 and the particulate filter 66 is disposed within the circulating pipe 65. The first exhaust gas inlet/outlet port 67a and the second exhaust gas inlet/ outlet port 67b of the circulating pipe 65 and an exhaust gas inlet port 69 leading to the interior of the muffler body 50 are disposed at one end of the muffler body 50 and exhaust gas is selectively supplied to the first exhaust gas inlet/ outlet port 67a, the second exhaust gas inlet/outlet port 67b and the exhaust gas inlet port 69.
