PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for high lift work having an elevatable and telescopic boom and a work bench, a limited reachable height, and an excellent usability. SOLUTION: A reachable extension amount Lt reaching a limited reachable height HLIM at the maximum elevating angleθMAX and a reachable elevating angleθt reaching the limited reachable height HLIM at the maximum extension amount LMAX are set in an operation control device controlling the operation of a boom. The operation control device elevates and retract the boom when the elevating operation is performed beyond the reachable elevating angleθt with a boom length exceeding the reachable extension amount Lt to horizontally move a work bench in the elevating direction (3). When the boom reaches the reachable extension amount during the horizontal movement, the retracting operation of the boom is stopped and the boom is elevated (4).
