PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a rectangular pipe efficiently. SOLUTION: Aluminum powder, powder of neutron absorbing material, and third particles of an oxide, nitride, carbide or borate are mixed and preliminarily molded by cold isostatic pressing(CIP). Subsequently, the preliminary molding is sintered by hot isostatic pressing(HIP) while canning. Following to sintering, the can is subjected to outer cutting and end face cutting before a billet is taken out. Finally, the billet is extruded to shape a rectangular pipe.
