COLOR FILTER FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for LCD using a cholesteric liquid crystal or chiral nematic liquid crystal which is formed with one interface of the liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer as exposed. SOLUTION: The color filter 10 for LCD is formed by applying a cholesteric liquid crystal or chiral nematic liquid crystal with addition of a surfactant along a parallel alignment film 14 on a substrate 12 where the parallel alignment film 14 is formed and by hardening the liquid crystal with light while the liquid crystal interface 16A opposite to the substrate is exposed.
