PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the workability is low and the work time is long because a supporting shaft and a fastening part are located in the rear of a printer and a problem that it is difficult to ensure a sufficiently high positioning accuracy and to provide a printer in which a thermal head can be set/removed easily and the positioning accuracy thereof is high. SOLUTION: A thermal head fixing plate 2 is provided, in the opposite side plates 2a thereof, with cuts 2c extending perpendicularly to the axis of a rotary shaft 6 and holding pins 2b extending in parallel with that axis. These two cuts 2c are fitted in two annular grooves 6a made in the outer circumferential surface of the rotary shaft 6 and two holding pins 2b are inserted into two cuts 4b made in the side plates 4a of a thermal head press member 4.
