NEW PHOSPHORUS COMPOUND AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new halogen-free phosphorus compound hardly generating a corrosive or toxic gas when molding or burning a synthetic resin containing the compound, and capable of imparting excellent flame retardancy and mechanical characteristics to the synthetic resin. SOLUTION: This phosphorus compound is a piperazine salt or a 1-6C alkylenediamine salt of an acid phosphoric ester represented by formulas I or II (R1 and R2 are same or different and each a 1-3C alkyl group) and having a phosphorinane structure. The method for producing the compound and the use of the compound as a flame retardant are also provided.
