PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for economically, industrially and advantageously obtainingβ,γ-epoxy alcohol without using an environmentally harmful solvent. SOLUTION: This method for producingβ,γ-epoxy alcohol is characterized by epoxydizingβ,γ-unsaturated alcohol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a tungstic acid salt and a quaternary salt.
