PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detection device for a cylinder liner capable of automatically detecting an abnormality by a constant standard. SOLUTION: The abnormality detection device 10 for a cylinder liner 30 relating to the present invention is a device for detecting an abnormality of the cylinder liner 30 of internal combustion engine. The detection device 10 is provided with a temperature sensor 12 buried in the cylinder liner 30; and an abnormality detection means 14 for detecting an abnormality of the cylinder liner 30 based on a variation of the measurement temperature measured by the temperature sensor 12. The abnormality detection means 14 judges that the cylinder liner 30 is abnormal in the case where the measurement temperature continuously becomes a threshold value or more for a predetermined time or in the case where the measurement temperature is continuously and periodically varied for a predetermined time.
