PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform coating without occurring ununiformity on a joint part at the time of performing the paste coating, particularly by the electric field jetting method in an applicator used for performing the line coating on a substrate having a size larger than that of a coating head. SOLUTION: In the paste applicator for applying a paste discharged from a discharge hole (h) of the coating head in line state on the substrate while relatively moving the coating head H having plural discharge holes (h) to be opposed to the substrate, the discharge holes (h) of at least both ends of the coating head H is arranged with a pitch wider than the pitch of the coating line. The coating is performed without generating the coating ununiformity on the joint part of the coating head because the paste discharged from the discharge holes of both ends is discharged directly downward with the suppressed repulsion even in the case of performing the line coating with the paste by the electric field jetting method.
