PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a healthy auxiliary food product hardly arousing the risk of side effects, capable of being always taken, and having activities for ameliorating eye diseases by integrating a recent research finding and conventional Chinese medicinal knowledge, because it has been disclosed that many kinds of the eye diseases including the diseases caused by aging are caused by the damage to a living body by an activat ed oxygen, and the eye is said as a window of guts and it is known that the ameliora tion of the conditions of the liver, the kidney and the spleen are indispensable for keeping the function of the eye. SOLUTION: This healthy auxiliary food product is a composition consisting essentially of a natural product, and the basic composition is the one obtained by formulating a vitamin and a carotenoid having high activities for removing the activated oxygen in the human body, together with an animal gallbladder conventionally having been a therapeutic agent of the eye diseases. The animal gallbladder can be those of carp, viper and sheep. The antioxidant is properly selected from vitamin C, vitamin E, astaxanthin, lycopene, and the like, and a condensed powder of a blueberry having activities for activating resynthesis of rhodopsin is preferably formulated therewith. |
