PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension pipe with satisfactory usability for an electric vacuum cleaner of which the fixation holding for extension and contraction and the release of the fixation holding are easily operated and the fixation holding is reliable. SOLUTION: It is possible to move an inner pipe 2 to extend and contract by gripping a separating body 3 with a hand, pulling the inner pipe 2 out to move the separating body 3 in the direction A, pressing an operating body 4 down by a contact part 8a, and separating a claw part 5 from a recessed part 6 provided for the inner pipe 2. By pressing the tip part of a hose downward to the side of a floor surface as gripping the tip part of the hose after it is used for cleaning and moving the separating body 3 in the direction A, it is possible to house and contract the inner pipe 2 in an outer pipe 1 and to provide the extension pipe with satisfactory usability for an electronic vacuum cleaner.
