PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame of a press which prevents an opening phenomenon and uniformizes the elongation of the frame due to pressing load with respect to a press having a C-shaped frame. SOLUTION: An auxiliary means 16 in front of a frame having a beam-shaped member 13 is provided in front of the C-shaped frame 2. Further, an auxiliary means 17 behind the frame is provided between a bed part 4 and a crown part 5. The auxiliary means for in front of and behind the frames are set to satisfy the relation L1×H2×A2≈L2×H1×A1, where A1 stands for the cross-sectional area of the beam-shaped member 13, A2 stands for the sum of the cross-sectional areas of an auxiliary side plate 19 and an auxiliary side plate 20, H1 stands for the horizontal distance from the center of the press P to the position of the center of gravity of the cross section A1, H2 stands for the horizontal distance from the position of the center of the press P to the center of gravity of the cross section A2, L1 stands for the vertical distance between the keys 14 of the bed part 4 and of the crown part 5, L2 stands for the vertical distance of the auxiliary plate 19, and P0 stands for the press load at the press center P.
