PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dissolved fluoride ion removing agent which is improved so that fluoride ions contained in wastewater is removed selectively to a low concentration only by one stage treatment irrespective of the initial concentration and a method for treating wastewater containing fluorine using the agent. SOLUTION: The agent containing (a) a calcium carbonate reaction hydrochloric acid aqueous solution and (b) a mixture or mixed aqueous solution of sodium polymetaphosphate and an active aluminum compound or a rare earth compound aqueous solution and the method for treating wastewater containing fluorine using the agent are provided.
