PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for steaming or cooking at least one food strand. SOLUTION: This method for heat-treating the continuous food strand comprises conveying the food strand through a steaming tank on a conveyer means immersed in the tank and arranging the conveyer means in a state of appropriately working so as to hang the food strand and engage the food strand with plural carrying means while forming plural loops formed by freely hanging the food strand between the adjacent carrying means.
