PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding the belt tread assembly of a radial tire for a passenger car capable of suppressing the local disturbance of the reinforcing cords of a belt layer without bringing about a problem of equipment cost or the wrinkles of the belt layer. SOLUTION: A belt molding drum 1 having a projected outer peripheral surface 1A of a curvature almost same to that of the inner surface of a mold with which tread rubber 4 comes into contact at the time of vulcanization, is used, and a first belt layer 2 is cylindrically wound around the belt molding drum 1 to be shaped corresponding to the shape of the outer peripheral surface of the belt molding drum 1. Subsequently, a second belt layer 3 is cylindrically wound to be shaped corresponding to the shape of the outer peripheral surface of the belt molding drum 1. Further, the tread rubber 4 is cylindrically wound to be shaped corresponding to the shape of the outer peripheral surface of the belt molding drum 1.
