PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a table with the top plate which is firmly and securely supported by a simple elevating mechanism at low cost. SOLUTION: A top plate 1 is connected to the main body 3 via an elevating mechanism 2 in this table. The elevating mechanism 2 is equipped with a support 4 fixed under the top plate 1, a support guide 3 connected with a support 4, and a stopper mechanism 6 to stop the support 4. The stopper mechanism 6 has a stop lever 7, an engage stopper 13, and an elastic body 10. The stop lever 7 is rotatably mounted on the support 4 and has plural stop recess parts 11 in the lower part and an operating part 9 in the upper part separated vertically. The elastic body 10 energizes the stop lever 7 in a direction to guide the stop recess parts 11 to the engage stopper 13 and stops the support 4 at a prescribed position of the support guide 5 in a condition the operating part is not operated. When the operating part 9 is operated, the stop lever 7 is rotated to separate the stop recess parts 11 from the engage stopper 13 of the support guide 5 to vertically move the support 4 along the support guide 5.
