PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized deodorizing device which has a sure deodorizing effect even to a hot and humid gas and unnecessitates a high-pressure power source, and a method for deodorizing treated gas including odor substances. SOLUTION: The deodorizing device 1 is provided with a housing 2, which is provided with a treated gas entrance 31 and a flow-out port 43, two electrodes 5, 6 housed in the housing 2, a conductive filler 7 and a low-conductive or non-conductive water-holding filler 8 which are filled between the two electrodes 5 and 6. The filler 7 and the filler 8 are made from a chlorine corrosion-resistant material and the material 8 carries a water-soluble salt.
