PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorptive mat for wiper which has high water absorptivity and excellent surface quick-drying properties and is comfortably usable. SOLUTION: This water absorptive mat comprises a layer 1 of porous granules having the water absorptivity and cloth 2 consisting of a water absorptive knitted and woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, etc., covering the front surface or both front and rear surfaces of the layer 1 of the porous granules. Since the layer 1 of the porous granules backs up the water absorption effect by the cloth 2, the water absorptivity by the cloth 2 may be improved and the drying of the front surface of the mat may be expedited.
