PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability, to prevent trash from scattering into a room due to exhaust, and to reduce noise, electric power consumption, and maintenance work in a trash-can-type cleaner. SOLUTION: The trash-can-type cleaner is constituted of both an independently useable cleaner main body 1 with a rechargeable battery 22 and a box-shaped charging device 2 provided with the function of a trash can and capable of housing the cleaner main body 1. The cleaner main body 1 comprises a trash capturing opening, a dust collecting chamber 18 to house trash, a rotating brush to brush up trash on a floor surface to introduce it to the dust collecting chamber 18, and a motor to drive the rotating brush. The charging device 2 comprises a trash insertion opening 3, a rash storage chamber 4a to store inserted trash, a charging part 5 to charge the battery 22 of the cleaner main body 1, a vibrating device 7 to discharge trash collected in the cleaner main body 1, and a trash storage chamber 4b to store the discharged trash.
