PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner compactly formed by utilizing the handle part of a dust collecting part as the handle of a main body case to simplify constitution. SOLUTION: A main body case 4 is formed by rotatably mounting a lid body 3 with a mounting upper recessed part 59 in the front to a case body 2 with a mounting lower recessed part 38 in the front to house a motor-driven blower 6. A dust collecting part 9 of which the lower edge part and upper edge part are each housed in a dust collecting space 58 between the mounting lower recessed part 38 and the mounting upper recessed part 59 is detachably and integrally sandwiched, fixed, and mounted between the mounting lower recessed part 38 and the mounting upper recessed part 59. The dust collecting cup 96 of the dust collecting part 9 is provided with the handle part 98 exposed from the outer surface of the main body case 4. As it is possible to utilize the handle part 98 for handling the dust collecting part 9 as a handle for lifting up the main body case 4, it is possible to improve handleability. As there is no need for providing a separate handle, it is possible to simplify constitution, to achieve compactness, and to improve manufacturability.
